Welcome!

My name is Liraz Rahinshtein, and I’m a registered social worker with over 23 years of experience. I hold a Master of Social Work with a clinical specialization from Ben Gurion University. My career began as a mental health officer, a role I held for 10 years before moving to Canada. Once here, I worked in the non-profit sector supporting individuals with disabilities in finding meaningful employment, and later transitioned into the public healthcare system, focusing on psychotherapy in community mental health.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside many individuals on their healing journeys. One client once described therapy as a path we walk together with me holding a flashlight, gently shining it on areas that might need attention, exploration, or challenge. As we move forward, there comes a moment when I hand over the flashlight, and the client continues on their own, equipped with the insight, tools, and confidence they’ve gained. That image has stayed with me and beautifully captures how I view the therapeutic process: collaborative, empowering, and emotionally attuned.

I work with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, life transitions, and adjustment challenges. I’ve completed training in several evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy for trauma, Prolonged exposure, Motivational Interviewing and Solution-Focused Therapy.

I’m passionate about creating a space where people feel heard, respected, and supported. I believe in meeting clients where they are and honoring their unique stories and strengths.

Areas of focus: PTSD, personality disorders, anxiety, depression, positive psychology, and self-compassion.
